BIOGRAPHY 

Linnea Andreassen is a swedish mezzosoprano from Uppsala now situated in Stockholm. She is educated at the University College of Opera and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm where she studied singing for Erik Årman. Linnea made her debut in 2015 as one of the three Adelige Waisen in Christof Loys production of Der Rosenkavalier at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. At Malmö Opera she made her debut in spring 2017 portraying Der Trommler in Viktor Ullmans Der Kaiser von Atlantis and in the summer of 2018 and 2020 she returned to perform the role La Feminste Atheé in Isabell Aboulkers opera Surprises de l'Enfer.

Linnea is a sought for soloist in both standard repertoire and new written music and in August 2018 she performed as The Squire Jöns in João Mcdowells newly written opera The Seventh Seal based on Ingmar Bergmans movie with the same name at the Bergman Festival in Stockholm and later on in the barszilian premiere of the opera in Tatuí, Brazil, in autumn 2018.

During spring 2019 Linnea performed as the only singer in the swedish premiere of the dutch composer Leonard Evers childrens opera, Gold, at Theater Pero in Stockholm and in the summer 2019 she performed the role Antiope in Maria Antonia Walpurgis Talestri regina delle Amazzoni with the free opera companies Kamraterna and Den Andra Operan. 

During the autumn of 2019 she performed one of the roles in Jonas Forssells latest opera Memory, an opera based on Margaret Mahys novel with the same name. The opera was produced by Estrad Norr. 

Linnea finished her studies at the University College of Opera in spring 2017 and during her education she has been working with roles such as Nancy in Brittens Albert Herring, Sesto in La clemenza di Tito by Mozart, Rosina in Il barbieri di Siviglia by Rossini, Anna 1 in Die Sieben Todsünden by Weill and Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti by Bernstein.

Spring 2018 she was the first to receive Vännernas Opera Scholarship from the Friends of Drottningholms Slottsteater, awarded by his majesty Carl XVI Gustaf king of Sweden during a concert at The Drottningholm Court Theatre.

Since august 2018 Linnea is represented in Scandinavia and the nordic countries by the danish agency On Stage Artist Management and their founder Marianne Karlberg.
